Small Damnation

I believe that we damn ourselves in small ways. It is the million little inconsiderations accumulated over the course of a lifetime -- and not any major crime or moral transgression -- that keeps us from the sight of God. Every door we fail to open for another, every kind word we fail to utter when given the opportunity, every time we place our own small comforts ahead of the greater good takes us one step further from divinity. The road to hell isn’t paved with good intentions at all, but with selfishness and stupidity.
