Food and Salvation

If Jesus hadn't provided loaves and fishes for his listeners on the mount, half of his audience would have walked out before he got to the part about "loving" our enemies. He -- or those who wrote the Gospels -- knew one very important, very basic truth about the world and its flesh and blood inhabitants. To feed a man's soul one must first fill his belly.
